The nurse anesthetist education program at Gonzaga University was founded in 1935 at Sacred Heart Hospital. It is now a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program.
WANA includes 740 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) as well as 57 active student members in Washington State.
CRNAs work in collaboration with surgeons, podiatrists, anesthesiologists, dentists and other qualified providers.
